Scholarships
Next Application Season Starts January 31, 2025
The 2025 application form will be available from this page starting January 31, 2025.
Eligibility
Scholarships are open to all Berkley, MA residents.

Residency means that you are living in Berkley and/or claim Berkley as your permanent address.

If you are single and living away from Berkley, you are eligible for scholarship consideration only if you maintain a Berkley address as your legal residence.

If you are married and not living in Berkley, you cannot claim residence.
Aid can be given to both full and part time students. Since funding decisions lean heavily on need, however, many part time students may be determined to have less need when competing against full time students.

Aid can be given to continuing ed (older adult) students.
Application Requirements

Application Form
Our online form must be completed and submitted by the application deadline.

Essay
Your essay must be submitted via our online form. Do not include your name or other identifying information in the body of the material.

Transcript
Your most recent school transcript in PDF format must be received via email by the application deadline. Transcripts must include the name of the educational institution, your enrollment status/student information, classes taken along with letter grades for those classes, and a cumulative GPA to be accepted.
Do not send extra information (college acceptances, SAT break down scores, etc.) than what is required.
​Application Deadline
Applications must be received by the published application deadline. No late forms will be considered.
There is a period of 2 to 3 weeks between the deadline and the awards evaluation meeting. During that time transcripts will be accepted for applicants in compliance with the online application form deadline.
Responsibility
The applicant is responsible for all portions of the required material. Applicants will receive a confirmation email when all materials have been received.
Awards
Applicants will be notified by mail or email of the results of the awards committee within 4 to 6 weeks of the application deadline.

Understanding the awards process

There is a point value assigned to each section of the application form, and to grades, essay, etc. Each evaluator awards his/her point assessment to each section of the form, and then all evaluators’ scores are compiled.

Materials are evaluated by officers and members of the board of directors. When, in some cases, board members or officers are unavailable, alternate members are substituted to fill that position. In addition to this group, there may be individuals who represent a specific scholarship who request the opportunity to review forms and provide input.

Application materials are assigned a processing number in random order. Prior to the evaluation meeting, all materials are processed by the president or designee to obliterate all reference to name, address, or any other information that would destroy impartiality.
