The Berkley Scholarship Fund was founded by an anonymous donor in 1972 with assistance from the school PTO. After some years of cajoling and convincing, our anonymous donor finally agreed to be named and thanked for his generosity—Mr. Damon Clegg of Berkley, MA. Mr. Clegg could not afford to attend college during the Great Depression and so, when he came into his own, made it his life’s mission to financially assist Berkley students wanting to pursue higher education.  Thanks to Mr. Clegg’s kindness and generosity, our small, all-volunteer group has been able to carry on this mission for the last 50 years.
